Some popular thoughts and wonderings:

I’d like to have paper prints to work from. Is there a way I can get a PDF copy of the SlideDecks?
Yes, you can create a PDF copy of any Slidedeck by clicking on the SAVE icon located on the upper control bar of the Slidedeck (right side). The PDF documents can be printed to paper or used (with active links) on your computer or mobile device. Note: You can also click the PRINT icon for a direct print to paper or PDF, however, you might not receive active links in the PDF file when using this method.

Looks like you’ve done a good job of addressing water drainage and leak problems, but is there a way to reduce the amount of noise created by these air conditioners?
We are looking into the possibility of developing a thin, sound-proof shell to fit over the PAC. However, the job is not as easy as it sounds, since good sound proofing is based on a sealed enclosure and PACs need holes for vents and air movement. In the event of a successful outcome, we’ll introduce this with a new Slidedeck under Project #1.

Why can’t I just connect a hose to the drain tube and let the water drain out into my yard?
Since “water seeks it’s own level”, you can do this as long as you can keep the drain hose a few inches below the full level of the PAC’s internal tank. Since this location is typically unknown, most try and keep the hose below the level of the PAC’s output drain nozzle.

Do you receive a bonus payment if I buy your recommended products?
PLP typically receives a commission if you buy any product (within 24 hours) after entering a seller website by clicking our link. PLP does not accept extra incentive payments from sellers for recommending specific products.

I like the idea of a water pump so I can automatically pump the water out my window. But do I really need the emergency shutdown valve?
You may want to consider the ESV if you live in a humid environment and have frequent power outages, since water can continue to drain from a PAC’s internal tank if power is lost. If not, you probably don’t need the ESV, just keep an eye on the water and make sure the drain hose doesn’t get clogged.

Can you use the ESV for switching gas lines on and off?
No, the valve is designed only for handling water flow. However, you could use the ESV design concept (e.g. electrical, mechanical, layout) along with a motorized gas valve to build a switching device for gas lines.
