For less than $200 you can build a platform for your PAC that will provide some major benefits while adding a unique and attractive addition to your home furnishings. The platform provides self-contained vibration dampers to reduce noise and an enclosure underneath to hold a tank or pump to dispose of condensation.
For less than $100 you can add a pump to automate the disposal of water created from PAC condensation. The pump starts after a quart of water has accumulated in an internal tank and shuts off when the tank is just about empty. The water can be pumped out to any suitable remote location, such as a floor drain, bathtub or back yard garden.
If your PAC generates a great deal of condensation and you are concerned about the possibility of water overflow, you can build an emergency shutoff valve (ESV) for less than $165. The ESV shuts off the PAC drain outlet when triggered by overflow sensors in the Water Pump.
If you’re planning on buying a new PAC, you’ll probably want to shop around, do some online research and check out the ratings/reviews of recommended products.
